Take the A281 south out of Horsham and in Monk's Gate turn right into Nuthurst Road. Follow this to Nuthurst, about a mile away. The pub is on the left and there's parking along the church on the right.
Map: Explorer 134 192 262
","Nuthurst with East Grinstead Nat. You turn left off the A272 onto Pound Lane and then right onto Red Lane and on to Shipley. There's parking near the church or along the road to the mill.
Map: Explorer 134 144 218
","Tom and Shipley","Thu 16","We made a day time visit here last summer so it will be interesting to see what's changed on this evening stroll. Andrew Guest will lead us in his knowledgeable way. We meet at the car park in the country park Take the A 264 from Horsham towards Crawley and go round the roundabout after the one with the right hand turn to the A23, and come back towards Horsham. The country park is sign posted on the left.
Map: Explorer 134 237 347
","Andrew and Buchan Park","Thu 23","The Masons are always good for an entertaining walk -- we even get lost on occasions, but not for long. We'll keep a lookout for both flowers and birds as we did on this trip last year. Take the A281 out of Horsham towards Guildford and turn left onto the Loxwood road in Buck's Green. Less than a mile along there is a small lay-by on the right where we park.
Map: Explorer 134 056 318
","Peggy, Roger and Pephurst Wood","Thu 30","We'll meet near the Downs' Link for what promises to be a pleasant evening walk under the excellent leadership of Janet Owen. Take the A 281 to Henfield where you turn right into Church street which becomes Upper Station Rd. There's a car park on the right where the road crosses the old railway line.
Map: Explorer 122 206 162
","Janet and Henfield","Month","August","N","Thu 06","We meet at the same place as the May walk but head off in a different direction to explore more of the area near to home. Leave Horsham by the A281 going south and turn off onto Doomsday Lane to turn right onto the Hammerpond Road towards Handcross. After the road passes the first hammer pond beyond Roosthole, Grouse Road is on the left. Turn up here and park along the verge of Grouse Road about half a mile along; there's a public footpath sign and reasonable parking on either side of the road.
Map: Explorer 134 220 295
","David and the Forest","Thu 13","We'll stroll along the canal here, a favourite walk for many of us, led by Gary Cooper this time. Take the A281 out of Horsham towards Guildford and in Buck's Green take the left turn to Loxwood. At the junction in Loxwood, turn left and park on the left in the car park behind the Onslow Arms pub.
Map: Explorer 134 041 311
","Gary at Loxwood" );
