Events

We have a wide variety of events that cover all aspects of natural history. These include winter lectures, field trips, and courses. Please contact the relevant organiser for more information.

We also run ad hoc "taster" events where experienced and knowledgeable members give tuition to people who would like to know more about the wildlife in their own locality. Email for details

A Plant Course consisting of monthly field trips will take place from April to August inclusive.
All outings start at 10:30 a.m. Bring a packed lunch.
Interested persons should contact Roger Mason on 01403 822 000.

Special Events - Throughout the summer we intend to run several events where the general public will have some involvement. They will be posted on this website and advertised locally.

Evening Walks will take place every Thursday starting promptly at 7.00. These will last around 2 hours and we will look for all kinds of wildlife including flowers, birds, and insects. We need to make a prompt start to make the most use of the daylight. It is advisable to bring a torch with you as the end of some walks might be in shady places with declining visibility. Do also bring suitable footwear for muddy paths.

Birds Field Trips (S.O.S. Outings)
HNHS have an agreement with Sussex Ornithological Society where they welcome our members on their Field Trips. Only those in our area are listed. For joining instructions and a full S.O.S. listing please click on the button on the Related Links page.
